All of our clients will begin with an initial assessment appointment.
This is so that we can take time to get to know you and your pet before any treatment commences. The initial assessment will be 1 hour long which allows us to move at a speed that provides most reassurance for your best friend.
In this time we will do a gait analysis for your pet to observe the way that they move, and we will also measure key areas of their structure to note the natural differences in their build. These points will be reassessed regularly to document improvements. We will also weigh your pet and provide a 7 point health check which will include:
We will then commence the first session within the Underwater Treadmill.
Please be aware that to book your first appointment into our diary new clients will be asked to pay an initial deposit of £15.00, which is recoverable off the cost of your first completed session with us.
The recuperative appointments follow on from the initial assessment.
The Hydrotherapist will have devised a treatment plan within the Underwater Treadmill that they feel is appropriate for your pet, and the sessions will work towards realistic goals and aims based on the information from your Veterinary referral, and also the information gathered from your initial assessment.
Depending on each individual case these session are usually on a once a week basis.
Once a patient has reached a suitable stage of their rehabilitation they may be moved onto our Maintenance Appointments.
These are designed to maintain the benefits achieved during the Recuperative Appointments over a longer time scale and reduced appointment frequency. This will be at the discretion of the Hydrotherapist in line with your pet's bespoke treatment plan, but rest assured we will always try our best to reduce frequency within the best interests of your pets long term management.
A report will be produced after a course of treatment which will be made available to your Veterinary Surgeon.
Don't ever worry that your pet won't enjoy their experience.
We are extremely careful to take all the time we need to introduce this brand new experience to your pet in a fun and friendly way.
All our sessions will be lead by your pets reactions, to make sure they are fully relaxed and comfortable.
After all, the best benefits from Hydrotherapy can be enjoyed by happy and relaxed dogs!
Most Insurance companies will cover the costs of treatment either on a set number of sessions, or cover a specific amount per condition (e.g 10 sessions or £750 worth etc)
Both our centres are affiliated with the Canine Hydrotherapy Association, meaning that Insurance companies can be assured of our standards and this allows them to recognise our treatments.
A Veterinary Referral is needed for us to complete treatments and we are more than happy to assist with any insurance claims.
Please note, treatment costs will have to be paid on the day to ourselves, and then you should be able to claim them back to yourself through your insurance.
We always advise speaking to your insurance company to check the types of treatment covered before sessions commence.
We regret we cannot handle direct claims.
